Help Restore Hope and a Future
for Justice-Involved Individuals.
Discover our mission, values, and the impact we strive to achieve. We invite you to join us in our efforts to effect meaningful change in the lives of individuals reintegrating into our communities after incarceration.
Organization
Established in 2023, Summit Point Restorative Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization originating from the ministry of Summit Point Church. Our mission is to promote the successful reintegration of individuals returning from incarceration by offering comprehensive training, housing solutions, supportive programs, and advocacy initiatives. We are dedicated to providing holistic wraparound services for individuals within our community. We prioritize a trauma-informed approach in all aspects of our work.
Community
Central to our initiative is the valuable insight and contributions from our community partners. We collaborate closely with various agencies engaged in corrections, and our Community Advisory Team (C.A.T.) plays a crucial role by offering feedback and guidance to inform our reentry efforts. Summit Bound Reentry Academy
More than a halfway house, our academy helps participants learn anger management, develop positive thinking, become emotionally healthy individuals, and grow in their relationships. Candidates grow Spiritually, Physically, Emotionally, and Mentally through biblical, strength-based programming.
Reentry Simulator
A valuable opportunity to gain insights into the challenges and realities individuals encounter as they reintegrate into society after incarceration.
Participants spend four cycles of fifteen minutes simulating a week in the life of a person coming out of prison, back to the community, and the struggles they often face.
Transitional Housing
Summit Point provides 25 individual rooms for men with fixed incomes or in transition. Many of our residents are still under supervision with P&P. We operate four facilities, including two houses.
We are prayerfully looking to open a house for women as we continue to grow.
Testimonials
Hear from our participants and partners.
Summit Point provides valuable housing and resource support to our clients. We appreciate their partnership and allowing us space in their Sterling Campus to meet with our justice-involved individuals.
Probation and Parole, District 24
After a relapse of my drinking, I lost my job. The staff at SPRI showed me grace, supported me, and helped me to overcome my mental health issues. I would not be where I am today if not for Summit Point.
Steven Sluder
When I came to Summit Point I had been living in the catacombs in Independence. Winter was coming, and they invited me to stay in their housing. I stopped drinking, I will be sober for three years, and have a great job. I still live in their transitional housing with my dog Tramp.

In the middle of my divorce, I had nowhere to go. Because of my legal constraints and fixed-income housing options were limited. I thank God every day for the people at Summit for giving me hope and a home.

Straight out of prison, I met my husband at Summit. Later after moving into their housing, we were married by Pastor Charles. We purchased our first home and welcomed our first son. Married life is tough, but they continue to support us.

When I lost my housing my PO called Summit for me. As a sex offender, it is hard to find housing. They welcomed me with open arms and gave me a place to stay.
