In the Community for Good

Big Picture Goals:
Homelessness
How does our Initiative engage and support those with housing barriers in our community?
Employment
What can be done to link people to career opportunities and needed education for better, sustainable employment?
Reduce Recidivism
The number one reason for recidivism across the country is a lack of housing and good-paying jobs. How can we address socioeconomic issues together?
Our Community Engagement Mission is to work in collaboration with our community stakeholders to achieve our shared goals.

Community at Large: Kansas City, Independence, Inner-city.

Local Government: City and County leaders, MO. DOC, MO P&P, MO Legislators.

Homeless and Reentry Population.

Community Partner Agencies: Habitat for Humanity, Community Service League, City Union Mission, Heartland Behavioral Health, Etc.
Core Human Needs:

People want to feel safe.

Everyone needs the opportunity to thrive.

Every Person Deserves Dignity.

People should not be defined by their past, but have the opportunity for a better tomorrow.

Work with stakeholders to reduce homelessness in our community. As part of the unsheltered work group in Independence, we participate in providing resources and shelter options for the unhoused. Likewise, we partner with our colleagues at City Union Mission and Shelter KC, alongside other programs, to provide options for those wanting something better.
